My friends and family call me Dr. SEA and "a Sister in Germany" is my hobby and personal reach out project. I am by profession a medical doctor practicing in Germany but as a hobby I write a blog which puts a positive limelight on people of African decend and immigrants as a whole in Germany. Dr. SEA has been my nick- name used since secondary school, at the age of ten or so, which reflected my childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor. It is an acronym of my names (Susan Enjema Aweh).It is not linked to any dissertation or my current job.The only link between today and the name is a dream come true.
The motivation to start "A Sister in Germany" came as a reaction to the mostly poor and negative coverage of people of African descend and the immigrant in general, which includes me, by the mainstream media.Nonetheless we also contribute, like everybody else, in different magnitudes and at different levels to the welfare of this country amidst the challenges we face.Slowly a "Sister in Germany" has gone beyond putting a positive spotlight on people of African decend, engaging me in different areas of Integration and people empowerment.

§§ DEUTSCH 

Hallo, hier bin Ich, gespalten zwischen Englisch und Deutsch, aber ein Ziel liegt mir klar vor Augen: Ich möchte meinen Beitrag dazu leisten, Leute afrikanischer Herkunft in Deutschland so repräsentativ wie möglich und aus meiner Sicht darzustellen. Leider bringt die Presse oft nur die ewig alten Klischees über Einwanderer aus Afrika oder anderswoher und sie werden meistens ausschließlich mit Negativem in Verbindung gebracht: Kriminalität, Ausbeuter des Systems, Faulheit usw usw. Häufig werden Afrodeutsche nur als Unterhalter/Zuhörer und nicht als Mitdenker, die bei wichtigen Entscheidungen unserer Gesellschaft aktiv mitwirken, eingeladen. Dabei gibt es viele Individuen und Gruppen afrikanischer Herkunft in Deutschland, die großartige Arbeit auf allen Ebenen unserer Gesellschaft leisten: Ärzte, Ingenieure, Wirtschaftwissenschaftler, Forscher, Sozialarbeiter, Leute in Führungspositionen, Musiker, ..das Spektrum ist breit! Mein Blog soll uns aufmerksam auf einige (warum nicht alle?) dieser Leute und Gruppen machen, weil Sie Vorbilder für die nächste Generation sind ...
