BORIS KODJOE : GERMAN ACTOR, ENTREPRENEUR AND FORMER FASHION MODEL



Boris Frederic Cecil Tay-Natey Ofuatey-Kodjoe was born on the 8th of  March 1973 in Vienna, Austria to a German mum (a psychologist)  and a Ghanian father ( a physician). 
His parents divorced when he was six years old and he grew up near Freiburg.
Has a brother named Patrick and two sisters, Nadja and Lara.
Among his feature film credits are 
"Love and Basketball"

 Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion" 
"All About Us" 
"Starship Troopers 3: Marauder." 
Most recently, he appeared opposite Bruce Willis in the action thriller "Surrogates," and a Paul Anderson directed thriller "Resident Evil: Afterlife".
In 2009, he made his Broadway debut in the Tennessee Williams classic "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof". 


Prior to launching his acting career, he modeled at the Ford Modeling agency, where he was involved in such campaigns as Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Yves Saint Laurent and The Gap. 
He recently started up the clothing company ALFA with his brother Patrick.


He married Nicole Ari Parker on May 21, 2005 in Gundelfingen, Germany. They have two children,  Sophie Tei-Naaki Lee Kodjoe and Nicolas Neruda Kodjoe.
In 2008 they founded the SOPHIE'S VOICE FOUNDATION,  a charitable organization supporting family outreach programs, prenatal education and surgical studies for children and adults with Spina bifida. 



The Sophie's voice foundation was founded in honor of their daughter Sophie who was diagnosed with Spina Bifida at birth.

Ibrahim Samak. Engineer. Founder and CEO of Engcotec GmbH


Ibrahim Samak was born and raised in Egypt, where he studied engineering sciences at the University of Assuit. He later moved to Germany where he lives for more than 30 years. His portfolio of achievements is so heavy, that wonder where I have been all these years and why is he only catching my attention now.

If you didn't know that the installation of the solar roof on the central railway station (Lehrter Bahnhof or Berlin HBF), that on the German Chancellory (Bundeskanzleramt) and that on the Parliament Building (Reichstag) in Berlin were done by an African, now you do. His company Engcotec GmbH did all that. In 1998  he had the world's biggest PV project - Mercedes Benz “Factory of the Future”. 2007  he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by the German President, Horst Köhler.

  • 2009 Chosen No. 1 of the "Top 100 Africans in Germany" by the Afro-European Media Group

Just a smile, it breaks barriers
Like make-up, wear it often
Like a mask, disguise with it
A smile is most often reciprocal
It is infectious
On a first thought, wins you a friend
A smile can be brighter than the sun
A gesture that speaks volume without a sound
A smile costs nothing
A tool that is always handy
Just a harmless smile
It's all you need
