The African courier has become a natural craving for readers who are interested in the African continent and in the life of Africans in Europe. It is a news and cultural magazine born 1998 in Germany by Awoniyi Femi, its editor-in-chief, as a source of information for those genuinely interested in a fairly painted picture of the motherland. It is published every other month and distributed by subscription as well as in several press outlets at train stations, airports and in selected African shops in many European countries. Ich fand noch einen Grund mein Blog weiterzuschreiben als Ich letzte Woche einen Artikel bei Welt-online laß. http://www.welt.de/die-welt/wirtschaft/article4864535/Einwandererkinder-haben-in-Deutschland-schlechte-Jobchancen.html.
Es geht um eine Studie der Organisation für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (OECD), in der Mann die Chancen von Migrannten auf der Arbeitsmarkt gegenüber
Nicht -Migrannten vergliechen hat. Ich werde hier Zitate aus dem Artikel wiedergeben.....

"Nachkommen von Einwanderern haben in Deutschland deutlich schlechtere Chancen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt als junge Leute ohne ausländische Wurzeln......"

"Die Unterschiede beim Joberfolg gibt es danach auch, wenn die Migranten in der "zweiten Generation" das gleiche Bildungsniveau haben wie ihre deutschen Altersgenossen....."

"Im niedrigqualifizierten Arbeitsmarkt seien die Nachkommen von Einwanderern in Deutschland gut integriert, nicht aber bei den Jobs für Akademiker oder Facharbeiter - auch wenn sie die nötigen Voraussetzungen mitbrächten...."

"Eine Erklärung könnte seiner Ansicht nach sein, dass auf dem Arbeitsmarkt die Erwartung vorherrsche, dass Migranten und deren Nachkommen eher gering qualifiziert seien. Deren Bildungserfolge würden noch nicht ausreichend honoriert, kritisierte Liebig...."

"In der Schweiz seien hingegen unabhängig vom Bildungsniveau kaum Unterschiede in den Beschäftigungsquoten festzustellen...."

Es ist traurig dass Leute trotz Qualifikation aufgrund von Klischeen keine Chancen auf dem Arbeitsmarkt bekommen . In wie weit die Presse zu dieser Meinung trägt ist heute nicht mehr umstritten.
Es gibt immer noch starken Bedarf an Aufklärung um mit den Klischeen brechen zu können.

Despite her busy schedule she creates time to reach out to her community. She and others founded the association ' Afro Horizont e.V' in Düsseldorf which focuses on improving the quality of life of Africans living in Düsseldorf through Education. They create networks amongst various African communities and work on projects which encourage quality education for Africans on one hand while fighting for the recognition of the African in the düsseldorfer scenes, thus against cliche's on the other hand.

Dr. Hentsch's practice is located in Unterbach Düsseldorf, an almost all-white neighbourhood which sees the competent doctor in her and not just the African.
